Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Plantala (the "Service"), operated by [YOUR LEGAL ENTITY NAME, address]. By creating an account you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. What Plantala is

Plantala is a web app that helps you track when to water your plants. It's intended as a friendly reminder service, not a substitute for professional horticultural advice. We make no guarantees that following our reminders will keep any specific plant alive.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU) to use Plantala. You're responsible for keeping your password and magic-link emails private. You agree not to use the Service to violate laws, infringe on others' rights, or attempt to disrupt our infrastructure.

3. Free plan

The Free plan lets you track up to 3 plants with basic reminders. It's free forever, no credit card required.

4. Paid subscriptions (Plantala Plus)

• Monthly plan: €2.99 per month, billed monthly, recurring until canceled.
• Yearly plan: €24.99 per year, billed yearly, recurring until canceled.
• Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period.
• Prices are exclusive of VAT; applicable VAT is added at checkout.

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We never see or store your card details.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your Plus subscription at any time:

• Go to Settings → Your plan → "Cancel plan"; or
• Cancel via the Stripe customer portal (link in your billing emails).

Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial periods, except where required by law (e.g. EU consumer right-of-withdrawal within 14 days of first purchase, provided you have not yet used the paid features).

6. Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time via Settings → Danger zone. This removes your account, plants, history, and photos, and cancels any active subscription. Some data (e.g. payment records) is retained for legal/tax purposes — see the Privacy Policy.

7. Plant identification and care guides

Plantala's care guides and species suggestions are general information, not professional botanical advice. Watering needs vary with light, humidity, season, and individual plant. Use your judgement and don't blame us if your specific basil disagrees.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload illegal, harmful, or infringing content (photos, plant names, notes).
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt unauthorised access to the Service.
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service.
• Use the Service to send spam, phishing, or harassment.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

9. Service availability and changes

We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may add, change, or remove features at our discretion. We'll give reasonable notice for material changes that affect paying users.

10. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the photos, plant names, and notes you upload. By using the Service you grant us a non-exclusive licence to store, display, and process this content solely to provide the Service to you. All other IP (logo, code, design, copy) belongs to [YOUR LEGAL ENTITY NAME].

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the Service in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period (so €0 for Free users, €2.99–€24.99 for Plus users). We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including dead plants.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of [YOUR JURISDICTION], unless mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country require otherwise.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top changes when we do. For material changes affecting paying users, we'll email you with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
